SR 786 (PGA Boulevard)/ SR 811 (Alt A1A)

Erdman Anthony was invited to provode design and highway lighting plans for the proposed urban interchange at PGA Blvd. and Alt A1A. The project included decorative street lighting on the PGA overpass, standard cobra-head lighting on the at-grade roadways, bridge maintenance lighting, temporary lighting for use during the construction, and significant coordination with the City of Palm Beach Gardens and the neighboring property owners. Also requested were design and preparation of signalization plans for the proposed urban interchange at PGA Blvd. and Alt A1A. The project included arterial analysis to determine the number of through lanes needed and capacity analysis of the four signalized intersections for several alternative future traffic conditions. Complete signal plan packages were developed, including signal interconnect drawings. Again, significant coordination with the City of Palm Beach Gardens and the neighboring property owners was conducted. In addition, design and preparation of signing and pavement marking plans for approximately 3.4 kilometers of urban roadway in Palm Beach County included five intersections with upgraded traffic controllers and signal interconnect plans for the full length of the project.
