High Street Rehabilitation Project

This pavement rehabilitation project included pavement and drainage improvements, safety and pedestrian accommodations, work zone traffic control, design approval documents and final design and construction inspection. The shoulder slopes were flattened, the drainage issues corrected, pavement section strengthened, and the overall ridability improved. Milling the existing pavement 4" deep in the center of the road and shallower in the shoulder helped to flatten the shoulder. Recycled asphalt was used for the new asphalt binder course. Select drainage structures and runs of pipe were replaced, as needed, to extend the design life of the system. Along High Street, the sidewalk ramps, driveway, side street crossings and ramps were unsafe. Using current ADA guidelines, a new, continuous sidewalk provides safe passage for all pedestrians. Erdman Anthony prepared final plans, specifications and estimates for the High Street improvements. Also, we provided assistance with publication of legal notices, technical support for any questions from contractors, assistance with bid proceedings, and analysis of bids and contractor qualifications. We provided construction inspection and support services to ensure successful completion of the project in accordance with the project plans.
