Waste Management Landfill-Gas-to-Energy and High Voltage Interconnections

Erdman Anthony was retained to provide local engineering and construction support services for the installation and utility interconnection of landfill-gas-to-electric generating plants operated by Waste Management Renewable Energy, in Rochester, NY.

this work involved three generator buildings and four interconnection facilities. Erdman Anthony also provided equipment procurement assistance to the owner and served as the owner's liaison with local utilities for technical and scheduling matters.

Erdman Anthony adapted a prototype design to meet local codes, site conditions, and aesthetic requirements. In addition to structural, HVAC, plumbing, and fire-protection system designs, Erdman Anthony also provided the design for the generator step-up substations, overhead high-voltage utility interconnections, and all related protective relaying and metering equipment.
