Erdman Anthony was the prime design firm in this design/build formatted project involving over $5,000,000 in facility renovations of an existing manufacturing building. The project had an extremely aggressive schedule which provided only 6 months from the time the contract was awarded to having the equipment relocated and ready for production. The following is an overview of the completed work:

  • Gutted the entire manufacturing area and provided an entirely new floor plan of rooms and circulation corridors

  • Removed all HVAC systems in the manufacturing area and provided new HVAC units with VAV distribution and DDC controls

  • Modified the existing chiller plant for primary/secondary distribution and replaced the existing cooling tower to provide water-side economizer operation during the winter months

  • Modified/expanded the existing compressed air, domestic water, and sanitary drainage systems

  • Added a new process vacuum system with distribution

  • Added a nitrogen system on the exterior of the building and provided nitrogen gas piping distribution within the building

  • Added new process hot water and process waste systems

  • Removed and expanded the majority of the electrical distribution system

  • Provided new high-efficiency lighting throughout the entire building

  • Removed the existing fire alarm system and provided a new multiplexed fire alarm system

The project received support from the local economic development agencies and NYSERDA incentives for the use of energy efficient equipment and systems.
