I-80 Airport Access Project

Erdman Anthony provided construction inspection services for a new interchange on I-80 (Phase I) and an access roadway from the interchange to the Dubois-Jefferson County Airport (Phase II). The project was known as SR 6830/590 & 591, with Section 590 delivered as a design/build project. Interchange construction included new ramps and a bridge over I-80.

This project now provides economic opportunity to a rural region of western PA by opening up a new five-mile stretch of road to the region's only airport.

Erdman Anthony provided PennDOT with nine inspection personnel and completed the inspection contract 30% under budget. In addition, despite unanticipated rises in asphalt and fuel costs, the total project cost came in well under PennDOT's budget.
