Rite Aid Corporation

Erdman Anthony provided fast-track mechanical and electrical design services for more than 50 new Rite Aid stores throughout the country under an open-end contract. Working from prototypes, our team produced site-specific final design plans that facilitated the permitting process. These plans were usually completed on a one- to two-week schedule and were based on a typical prototype that contained an 84 ft x 128 ft store building at a pre-set orientation. Erdman Anthony provided complete mechanical and electrical design for each store, which included plumbing systems as well as highly centralized systems for lighting, sound, security, energy management, and data up-linking. In addition, rooftop HVAC units with ductwork were installed that provided gas heating and electric cooling.

The electrical design provided by Erdman Anthony included a fluorescent lighting system, site lighting, and 800 amp 120/208 3-phase 4-wire service. Our design team also coordinated layouts for equipment, drive-up and drive-thru areas, security and communications. Equipment room details, package rooftop gas HVAC units, sprinklers, and plumbing for small toilet rooms were also incorporated in the design.

Erdman Anthony provided mechanical and electrical design for several strip mall complexes in which Rite Aid is the anchor store. These projects often involved remodels of existing buildings to convert them into typical Rite Aid stores. Erdman Anthony's fast-track design capabilities and technical expertise helped Rite Aid advance its reputation as one of the leading drugstore chains in the nation.
