Corvette America, an
international distributor of Corvette parts, contracted Erdman Anthony to
provide structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services
for their new world headquarters. Erdman Anthony provided design services as
part of an adaptive reuse of a 202,000 sq ft outdated manufacturing plant which
was used for warehouse space.
The renovated facility includes retail
space for Corvette parts and souvenirs, an area for custom parts fabrication, a
museum, a consignment Corvette display area, offices, conference rooms, and a
warehouse for receiving and shipping inventory. The goal of the design was to

During the first phase of the build-out,
Erdman Anthony provided structural remediation of fatigued and stressed areas,
interior and exterior lighting, HVAC, telecommunications and structured cable
design, electrical power distribution, building automation controls, and fire
protection for the facility.
Throughout the design, Erdman Anthony
incorporated sustainable design features. These features included comfort
control systems for occupants, optimized HVAC systems for energy efficiency,
energy-efficient lighting, and energy recovery on all HVAC systems. Plumbing
fixtures are low consumption, and the domestic hot water systems are
high-efficiency instantaneous to conserve energy.
