Fort Niagara State Park Water Main

Erdman Anthony was retained by the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation to perform engineering services in conjunction with the replacement of aged waterlines at Fort Niagara State Park.

The park was historically dignificant, and the new waterline design had to take into account several archaeologically significant areas. This required that it be installed in the same trench as the existing line, which necessitated temporary above-ground bypass water systems. Services included survey, mapping, hydraulic analysis, and design of approximately 13,000 feet of 8-inch and 10-inch-diameter PVC water line and appurtenances.

Engineering services included the design of a new meter pit connection to the Town of Porter water line system as well as valve and piping improvements at the existing meter pit in the Village of Youngstown.
