RED-Rochester Fire Protection
In 2013, Recycled Energy Development (RED)–Rochester and the Eastman Business Park reached an agreement to transition the utility infrastructure at Eastman Business Park (EBP), one of the nation’s largest industrial complexes, to RED-Rochester. Part of this agreement involved the operation and upgrade of two Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants within the EBP.
Erdman Anthony was retained to perform fire protection and life safety assessments of multiple areas and operations within these facilities. These assessments included the evaluation of existing fire suppression systems at multiple bearing locations on the existing steam turbines, recommendations for new fire suppression coverage at multiple dual-fuel boiler burner fronts, and the addition of coverage to an existing electrical control room. These recommendations were presented within a report to RED-Rochester and were reviewed with their insurance underwriter, FM Global.
