Commons at Royal Palm Beach

Erdman Anthony provided the site, civil, and land surveying services for the Commons at Royal Palm Beach, a 20-acre commercial site located on SR 7 between Southern Boulevard (SR 80) and Belvedere Road. Home to Toys "R" Us, T.J. Maxx, Michaels, PetSmart, and many smaller retail outlets, the development is a busy and attractive destination in the village.

The project included a community sewage lift station. Erdman Anthony was instrumental in the negotiation of a developer's agreement with the village that included joint funding for the lift station with the neighboring residential community. The force main route involved approximately 4,000 linear feet of 6-inch and 10-inch force main, including a subaqueous crossing of the Lake Worth Drainage District S-2 canal and connection to an existing force main within SR 80. The connection within SR 80 required nighttime construction, lane closures, and backfill with flowable fill to ensure minimal disruption to traffic on that major arterial.

Significant attention was focused on stormwater management for the site due to its location within the western C-51 drainage basin. Our team conducted an analysis of the groundwater and neighboring surface waters to establish the control water elevation. Dry pretreatment was provided on-site in a dry pond. Additionally, compensating storage was accommodated in an on-site lake.
