Boynton Lift Stations Replacements

Erdman Anthony provided survey, design, permitting, construction documents, specifications, construction observation, and certification for four pump station replacements. The existing pump stations were over 40 years old, did not meet the city's current standards for submersible pumps, and were costly to maintain.

The design of the replacement pump stations required that the work be performed within land available and accessible to the city. The city did not have legally recorded easements for three of the existing stations, and our survey department helped the city prepare the legal documents for recordation. Interaction with the property owners and nearby residents was offered as an aid in this effort.

Because the existing flow had to be maintained during construction of the replacement pump stations, the design featured a layout that would accommodate both a temporary bypass pump and a construction sequence that would provide for continuous service.

The permits were prepared and processed individually because the four stations are dispersed across the city. The projects will be let for bidding and construction as a single contract, however, to ensure better pricing and attract more bidders.
