Erie County Water Authority, City of Tonawanda

Erdman Anthony was retained by the Erie County Water Authority (ECWA) to perform survey, preliminary design, final design, bidding, construction administration and construction inspection for water system improvements to ECWA infrastructure located in four Western New York municipalities. The project consisted of a single contract for removal of a pressure-reducing valve chamber and installation of 24” Ductile Iron Pipe (DIP) associated fittings in Orchard Park (Site #1); replacement of 12” and 24” valves with new 12” and 24” butterfly valves, along with associated 12” and 24” DIP and fittings in the City of Lackawanna (Site #2); installation of a 24” butterfly valve and associated 24” DIP and fittings in West Seneca (Site #3); and interconnections, abandonments, various-sized valves, various-sized DIP and fittings at various locations in the City of Tonawanda (Site #4).

The project also required coordination and receipt of permits from the various municipalities, NYSDOT, Erie County Department of Public Works, and the Erie County Health Department. Erdman Anthony provided the Engineer’s Estimate for the project, which was within 1.5% of the lowest responsible bidder. We also provided construction inspection and administrative services to monitor the construction at the various sites and project as-builts for ECWA records.
