I-376 Construction Management/Construction Inspection (SR376, Sections A39 & A40)

Erdman Anthony was the prime consultant providing construction management and construction inspection for the rehabilitation of I-376 from the Churchill Interchange to the PA Turnpike Interchange. The project included milling, base repair, and resurfacing of the three-lane mainline section of I-376 westbound; interchange ramps; drainage; guide rail and end treatments; milling, base repair, and resurfacing of shoulders; bridge reconstruction and preservation work; acceleration and deceleration ramp lengthening; signing and pavement marking for a project length of 4.4 miles with average daily traffic of 67,760 vehicles. In addition to the roadway work, the project included a large-scale guide sign upgrade effort partly required for re-designation of I-376 and portions of SR-0279 to I-376; extensive ITS improvements; and installation of an over-height truck detection system for the nearby Squirrel Hill Tunnel. Construction cost for Section A39 was $24.7 million.

In the 2010 and 2011 construction season, Erdman Anthony provided construction management and construction inspection services for a similar range of roadway work for I -376, Section A40, which is the eastbound portion of the section noted above. Construction cost for Section A40 was $19 million.
