Erdman Anthony provided preliminary engineering and final design for the rehabilitation of dual viaducts on I-80 over Moshannon Creek, more than 1,200 feet in length with piers up to 75 feet high (SR 0080, Section B15). The superstructure was replaced on new pier caps, with substructure analysis and rehabilitation design, pier retrofits, and new abutments. The team implemented several measures to reduce maintenance costs and increase the bridges' service life, such as retrofitting existing pier columns to support the new superstructure and larger load, resulting in a significant cost savings for the client.
