Our Projects

Erdman Anthony provided engineering, design, and construction assistance services necessary for the complete remediation and demolition of existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and a new MEP design for Kapoor Hall, a 160,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility that houses the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University at Buffalo.

Erdman Anthony's scope of work included HVAC systems, laboratory exhaust systems, building and laboratory plumbing systems, central process and utility systems with associated distribution piping, a power distribution system, a grounding system, indoor and outdoor lighting, stand-by power and emergency generators, life safety systems, and all associated instrumentation and controls. In addition, several of the facility’s classrooms, labs, and lecture halls were equipped with smart equipment that facilitates distance learning.

During schematic design, Erdman Anthony performed a feasibility study and energy simulation for the associated chilled water and cogeneration plant. As a result of the study, particular capacity, configuration, and redundancy of the chillers were established.

Kapoor Hall was designed to meet the United States Green Building Council's standards and is certified LEED Gold®. Erdman Anthony performed a LEED-certification checklist that involved establishing energy options, developing LEED strategies, and conducting a LEED analysis, in pursuit of certification.
