East Main Street Revitalization Project to Connect Rochester Neighborhoods

Author: Erdman Anthony/Wednesday, February 10, 2021/Categories: In the Community, Our Industry, Our people

On February 9, 2021, Lovely Warren, mayor of Rochester, New York, and other project stakeholders broke ground on the city’s $10 million project to reconstruct 0.9 miles of East Main Street. The project will address infrastructure needs and support a community vision for the corridor, including full-depth pavement reconstruction, one-way protected bike lanes, new sidewalks, enhanced street lighting, and landscaping.

The project involved significant utility coordination to relocate private utilities (electric and telephone duct bank) due to the narrowing of the pavement section.

Represented at the groundbreaking by project manager and Rochester transportation regional manager Bill McCormick, PE, Erdman Anthony provided engineering design and will provide construction support services.
