A New York state program that promotes energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources has approved Erdman Anthony to offer a new service to businesses participating in the program.
Net zero services specifically target equipment and processes that help building owners lower energy consumption while creating renewable energy on-site. A net zero energy building produces as much energy as it uses over the course of a year.
Net zero is just one goal of the Flexible Technical Assistance (FlexTech) program, which is part of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). The program shares with building owners the cost to produce an objective, site-specific, and targeted energy study on how best to implement clean energy and/or energy-efficiency technologies.
Erdman Anthony was first selected as a NYSERDA FlexTech partner in 2001. The firm’s FlexTech specialties include:
- General feasibility studies
- Technical support/clean-energy activities
- Industrial and process-efficiency analysis
- Retro- and continuous commissioning services
- Alternate-fuel technology assistance
- High-performance buildings
- Energy-advisor services
- Agricultural technical assistance
- Clean heating and cooling
- Net zero
Erdman Anthony’s commitment to healthy design stems from SustainabiliTEAM™, the firm’s approach to sustainable design and building operation that combines the efforts of engineers, energy analysts, and commissioning professionals.
