Author: Erdman Anthony/Thursday, March 11, 2021/Categories: In the Community, Our Industry

The State Route 858/Hallandale Beach Boulevard at Interstate 95 interchange, in south Broward County, Florida, was a high-crash segment and the subject of a Florida DOT safety study in 2013-14. The completion of safety improvements on the six-lane divided urban highway last summer was the culmination of a task work order completed by Erdman Anthony.

Erdman Anthony provided design and construction inspection for the project, which included ramp extensions, widening, and realignment, turn-lane improvements, and better lighting and signal alignment.

Additional improvements included drainage-structure relocation and/or replacement; sidewalk, curb, and gutter reconstruction; milling and resurfacing; and guardrail replacement.

The design work was completed in fall 2018, and construction was completed in summer 2020.
