In Amherst, New York, near the University at Buffalo’s North Campus, the JJ Audubon Parkway Bridge provides passage over Ellicott Creek.
The recently completed superstructure replacement and roundabout project was designed using a Complete Streets approach that implemented a road diet. The road was realigned to reroute both travel lanes to one bridge structure while the other was replaced with a prefabricated steel truss for pedestrians and bicyclists. Creating a win-win for all users!
Erdman Anthony provided coordination with NYSDOT and the University at Buffalo, and provided project management, ROW incidentals, and design for all phases.
