Kutztown University in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, has opened its Esports Arena in time for students returning for the spring 2020 semester, which began in January. The arena, located in the McFarland Student Union, will host competitive, organized video gaming, including interscholastic tournaments.
Erdman Anthony was a part of the project’s collaborative design-build approach, providing decorative-lighting, electrical-power, and low-voltage engineering services as a subconsultant.
The new arena is a key element in the university’s development of an esports program, and the project was contracted through a Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) open-end agreement Erdman Anthony obtained in 2016.
