1.    Speed. The circular design means drivers must slow down when entering and exiting.
2.    Direction. All vehicles must move counterclockwise, reducing the risk of head-on and right-angle collisions.
3.    Conflict points. 75% fewer intersection conflict points mean lower likelihood of collisions.
4.    Pedestrians. Traffic moving at slower speeds gives pedestrians more time to cross safely.

As more communities choose roundabouts for their intersection upgrades, they are also finding this solution to be cost-effective while helping reduce the environmental impacts of driving.
