Founded in downtown Rochester in 1954, Erdman Anthony has since then been meeting a full spectrum of needs for the City of Rochester and surrounding areas, including vital infrastructure and the facilities engineering and design services needs of building owners, operators, and users.

Memorial Bridge (2007)

A stunning landmark arch span and emblem of downtown Rochester that carries an annual average daily traffic of 92,000+ vehicles on I-490 through — and to — the heart of downtown. Erdman Anthony prepared preliminary and final plans, special specifications, and quantity estimates for this bridge. We also performed 3-D structural analysis and performed detailed design of the structure.

Genesee Riverway Trail Footbridge/Combined Sewer Overflow Abatement Program
(CSOAP) (1985 and 2021)

An infrastructure innovation that created a pedestrian bridge connecting Maplewood and Seneca parks and that carries two 6-foot diameter sewers underneath its deck to mitigate the occurrence of combined sewer overflows from the existing City of Rochester sewer collection system to the Genesee River and Irondequoit Bay. Erdman Anthony was engineer of record for the original design, provided construction support and construction observation, and designed the new 3-mile tunnel, the bridge, and two junction and control structures.

Our Commitment to Rochester

Where we work

Erdman Anthony's headquarters returned to the City of Rochester in 2012 as one of the first businesses to lease space in the newly repurposed Culver Road Armory, nestled between the Upper Monroe and Park Avenue neighborhoods.

Where we serve

We are enthusiastic participants in the annual neighborhood Clean Sweep, and volunteer for and mentor students in the city’s schools.

We are committed community gardeners at Wide Water Gardens, users of Rochester’s bike paths, we run, and picnic in nearby parks, play softball at Cobb’s Hill Park.
