THE PROJECT PennDOT sought to reconstruct 15.5 miles of Interstate 80, from the Clearfield County line to the westbound rest area, known as Section 540.

The project also involved pavement overlay along I-80 eastbound, bridge-preservation activities on five structures, and other miscellaneous construction.
IMPACTS The reconstruction in this section of I-80 has improved the overall infrastructure as well as travel for local and regional commuter traffic; local, regional, and national freight; and local and regional tourism traffic.
