2016 Preventive Maintenance
This project involved 3.25 miles of pavement rehabilitation along six city streets in Rochester, NY: North Goodman Street, East Main Street, Brown Street, Wilder Street, Allen Street, and Morrie Silver Way.
Preliminary design activities included preparation of an accident analysis and development of concept striping layouts for each street.
Final design activities included development of project plans, which entailed typical sections, striping plans, work-zone traffic control, details, cost estimates, and specifications.
Improvements this project established included traffic-signal loop replacements, curbing resets, drainage-structure adjustment, drainage system cleaning, sign upgrades, and sidewalk-ramp upgrades.
The design also called for restriping East Main Street to accommodate bicycles and installing bump-outs and islands at the intersection of East Main Street and North Goodman Street.
