Forum Auditorium Renovations

This project entailed the cosmetic renovation of the 18,000-square-foot historic Forum Auditorium that is a part of the Forum Building at the Pennsylvania State Capitol Complex in Harrisburg, PA. The auditorium is an active concert hall that houses the Harrisburg Symphony and hosts other musical events.

The project consisted of replacing existing seating and carpeting, performing site work, and taking specific measures to mitigate the ongoing humidity and condensate issues.

MEP work included new aisle lighting, seat lighting, and associated power. It also included adding a new drain pan under the existing upper-floor built-up air handling unit and replacing select pipe insulation.

A new temperature/humidity monitoring system was provided, with sensors located throughout the occupied and unoccupied portions of the facility. The sensors were tied to the existing direct digital control system, which enables the owner to trend and evaluate issues relating to moisture and humidity within the facility.
