Erdman Anthony provided construction observation and documentation services associated with the reconstruction and realignment of a 9.8-mile section of a four-lane limited-access highway. The structures work included construction of two multispan concrete girder bridges, two precast-concrete arch culverts, four box culverts, and a soldier pile retaining wall.
Roadway work required 3.5 million cubic yards of excavation to construct the roadway and two full diamond interchanges. The new northbound alignment was largely constructed on the existing roadway, which required concrete patching and bituminous pavement overlay. The new southbound roadway was on a new alignment and was constructed with Superpave bituminous asphalt pavement.
