Student Memorial Center Renovations and Addition

Erdman Anthony provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design for the renovation of and addition to the Student Memorial Center at Millersville University in Millersville, PA, and incorporated LEED® guidelines into that design.

The project entailed modification to approximately 90,000 square feet of existing space, including renovations to dining areas, kitchen, meeting rooms, classrooms, and office spaces.

A new fitness center, three-court open recreation center, and student affairs office totaling 70,000 square feet also were constructed as part of the project.

Infrastructure upgrades included a new chiller plant, a boiler plant, new 1200-ampere switchgear, and a 250-kilowatt emergency generator.

The improvements to the Student Memorial Center have made it a more central building on campus. It now provides meeting, assembly, and study areas for students, and the enlarged fitness center can accommodate more users.
